When are the meetings held?
Meetings are held on the first Wednesday evening (except as noted) during selected months between September and April. Meetings are free, open to the public, and cosponsored by the Shenandoah Valley Genealogical Society (SVGS) and the Stewart Bell Jr. Archives, Handley Regional Library.
Where are the meetings held?
Meetings are held in the auditorium located in the basement of Handley Regional Library (unless otherwise noted) at the following address:

Note that some meetings may be sponsored offsite
How will I know if the meeting has been canceled?
To find out if a program has been canceled due to inclement weather, please call Handley Regional Library (540-662-9041) and listen to the recording on the day of the program to see if the library is closed. If the library is closed, the SVGS Meeting is canceled for that date.
What is on the agenda each month?
Each meeting begins with a short administrative meeting that includes announcements of upcoming events and other activities of interest to genealogists. Each meeting includes a 45-50 minute program lecture on genealogically related topics.
